Akasha has been a staple in Culver City since 2008, and while I've spent plenty of days working from their attached coffee shop, I hadn't actually eaten at the restaurant until recently. I went for a networking lunch last week--it was a convenient mid-point to meet up, and none of us had tried it before. Making a reservation was easy, and there's a parking lot directly behind the restaurant, which made things super convenient. We sat out on the patio, which was quiet and perfect for conversation. The service was friendly and attentive. We started with the hummus & crudité, which I could probably skip next time--it was a bit on the bland side. I had the fish tacos for my main; they turned out to be fried (which I wasn't expecting), but they were still really tasty. My colleagues ordered the BLT and the burger--both looked great and got good reviews. Portions were generous without being too much. All in all, I'm glad I finally got to check it out!

THE best salmon salad I have ever had at a restaurant in my life... this is not an exaggeration. The salmon is perfectly crunchy on the outside and moist, but not undercooked on the inside. I did specifically ask for it to be cooked all the way through so not sure if you need to do that if that's the way you like it too. But I do know that the outside is always crunchy, that's what they're known for. Riri at the front and Kenny at the bar made this experience EXCELLENT with their kind service and going above and beyond for me. Five stars on all fronts: food, ambience, and service!

Had a great experience. We ordered flat iron steak, salmon, spaghetti & turkey meatballs, rigatoni and wine. One slight complaint, we ordered meatballs as an appetizer which was great. However the meatballs with the spaghetti were on the dry side - dry enough where we didn't finish it. Overall we were happy with everything and would come again.

I will be dreaming of this restaurant for who knows how long. Such a lovely modern restaurant, food is exquisite, and the vibe is perfect. I was looking at the menu online and one item immediately caught my eye- the piri piri chicken and also decided to come for Dine LA. We came on a Friday night and even though we had made a reservation, we still had to wait a bit. It seemed like they were understaffed. From the Dine LA option I ordered the winter chicory salad and the beef bourguinon. I loved the salad- manchego cheese, dates and almonds paired so well with the sherry vinaigrette. And the beef bourguinon was the star of the show for me. The beef served on a bed of mashed potatoes with a delicious red wine sauce and roasted carrots and beefs was pure perfection. For the non Dine LA options we got hummus and vegetables as well as the piri piri chicken. The vegetables with hummus were fine but nothing special. However we enjoyed the piri piri chicken and at half a chicken served with large cut potato wedges, it's the perfect amount. The piri piri chicken was spicy but nothing crazy. Personally I wasn't a fan of the white sauce they served it with but the chicken alone is delicious and has a ton of flavor so you don't even need the sauce. Please get the piri piri chicken, you won't regret! For dessert I got the the chocolate layer cake as an option from the Dine LA menu. It was a freshly baked brownie served with coffee ice cream. The brownie had a rich fudgie texture. Honestly so so good. It reminded me of a pizookie. Overall it was a very nice meal and I would love to come back again to try other dishes!

All the food was delicious! The paprika aioli was so yummy with the french fries. The black bean chilaquiles was so yummy. The sauce that drenched the chips was delicious but the chips weren't too soggy. It was still the perfect texture and upheld its structure. The fried egg was done perfectly and the black beans complimented the chips well!

AMAZING spot in Culver City! We were here for a team dinner with about 20 people and were offered a pre fixed menu. Our team loved every bit of it and the service was amazing. We had a chance to work with the owner Alan to coordinate everything and it was seamless from beginning to end. Highlights from the menu included the salmon, Cacio e Pepe and chopped salad. Few things to note is that the spot is super vibey inside -- didn't know what to expect as it was our first time but we loved how dimly lit it was and how it felt like you were dining in a luxe open air industrial loft. The cocktails were also quite whimsical and we loved how unique they were! They had an alcoholic matcha drink as an example. Parking is also free in the garage in the back. Will definitely be back!

We had Akasha cater our Thanksgiving this year and it was perfection. They have both vegan and gluten free options. I'm mostly vegetarian so I really appreciate this! Portion sizes were generous and the delivery fee was fair. Reheating instructions were included and easy to follow. They also offer pick up. Everything was. Packaged beautifully and I received everything I ordered. I had the local lettuce and persimmon salad, winter squash and fennel soup, Yukon mashed potatoes, vegan stuffing, mac and cheese, candied sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts and shallots, cranberry sauce, mushroom gravy, buttermilk rolls, and gluten free pumpkin pie. I would definitely order Thanksgiving from Akasha again. Only think I would do differently is get a second pumpkin pie because it was delicious and went so fast.

June 2024 | Culver City: Dined here tonight with two friends & fell in love with the salmon & broccolini, yum! We ordered plenty & shared each dish, as plates are small, but mighty! Salmon: Melt in your mouth delicious; tender & plenty of flavor, which made my tastebuds incredibly happy! I will order again!! Broccolini: Flavorful & flat out delicious, especially when you squeeze the lemon over this dish! Yum! I can still taste it as I write! I will order again!! Beet & Avocado Salad: Loved! Flavorful, plentiful & will order again! I love beets, in this case, golden beets! Yum! I will order again!! Onion Rings: Yum & yes, please! Arrives with two sauces! I preferred ketchup over the paprika aioli! Squash Blossom Pizza: Very tasty, enjoyed the flavor! Gochujang Cauliflower: Light flavor w/a bit of spice. I would not order again. I have Gochujang at home & it's quite flavorful! In fact, I'm used to its strong flavor; it really stands out! Suburbanite Mocktail: Pretty pink color, light, refreshing & without alcohol; cranberry lime & toasted rosemary! Customer Service: Everyone we interacted with from the moment we walked in was super friendly & often plenty of laughter, as well as service with a smile, loved it! Thanks again to everyone! Overall: I'm excited to eat at Akasha again! Simply thinking of the Salmon & Broccolini makes my mouth water, yummy!! Let's go!
